Tina Yothers - After leaving the mega hit TV show Family Ties (featuring Michael J. Fox) went on tour with Ricky Martin and his band mates MENUDO in various cities throughout the United States for DARRIN McGILLIS, PRODUCTIONS Concert Tours. At that time Tina's band was named MAGIC.

The former Family Ties co-star, now a singer in an alternative rock band, is routinely written off as a "has-been," a novelty act, a bored former child star with a new hobby. People leap to these conclusions even if they have never heard her sing. Especially if they have never heard her sing.

"People can think what they want," says Yothers, 26. "I'm used to it. But when they come and listen to our band play, it doesn't take long for them to realize it's for real, that I'm very passionate about what I'm doing."

Yothers was 8 when she was cast as Jennifer Keaton on Family Ties (1982-89). She literally grew up on prime-time TV and even had other high-profile acting gigs. But all along, music was her first love.

"Music had always been in our family," she says. "My dad was a musician. My brother Cory, who is a year older than me, was a musician, self-taught, every instrument. Music was always in our house. It was what I dreamed of doing."

So it should come as no surprise that in 1996, she and Cory formed a band called Jaded. The seven-member, Los Angeles-based group released its debut CD last year. Jaded's sound is an eclectic mix of powerful guitars, funky rhythms and unexpected trumpet solos--all layered to showcase Yothers' strong, expressive vocals.

Yothers, still single, says she always enjoyed acting. But now, even with only a fraction of the fame she had on TV, she says her life has never been happier, her career never more rewarding. "It's a hell of a lot more work and a hell of a lot more rejection," she says of starting over in the music business. "But it's definitely more pleasurable."

Tina Yothers was known as Jennifer Keaton in the TV sitcom Family Ties her real full name is Kristina Louise Yothers.

Tina was Born on May 5th 1973 in Whittier, California, USA.
Tina has three brothers; Jeffery, Randy and Cory; and one sister, Kari.
Tina is currently living in Huntington Beach, California.
Tina is now the lead singer of the band Jaded. They recently released their first CD, called "Confessions" (should be in most music stores in the US, although it might be hard to get hold of it in other countries).
